About Rachel Rose Rainbows

The Rachel Rose Rainbows Initiative was inspired by a deeply personal chapter in Rachel's life and a desire to bring hope to families facing some of life's most difficult challenges.

 

Over a short period of time, Rachel's family experienced both her father's cancer diagnosis and, soon afterwards, Rachel's own diagnosis. Together, they navigated those uncertain years by supporting one another, cherishing every precious moment and finding strength in the love of family.

 

Sadly, Rachel's father passed away in the summer of 2024 before they were able to enjoy a family holiday they had been looking forward to. Although his loss was heartbreaking, it also reinforced just how valuable time together truly is. A few months later came a moment of hope, when Rachel received the wonderful news that she was cancer free.

 

Those experiences changed Rachel's outlook on life. While they brought heartache, they also brought a renewed appreciation for family, treasured memories and the importance of creating moments of joy, even during the most challenging times.

 

Inspired by this new perspective, Rachel created the Rachel Rose Rainbows Initiative to offer families facing life-limiting or terminal illness the opportunity to step away from hospital appointments and daily worries, and simply spend precious time together.

 

The inspiration for the initiative began with one of Rachel's former wedding couples, whose young daughter was diagnosed with leukaemia. Watching their lives change so dramatically, Rachel and her husband, Johnny, wanted to do something meaningful to support them. Cortijo Rosa Blanca was generously donated for them to use for a family holiday and the beautiful chance for them to revisit their wedding location but this time being able to bring their daughter with them, giving them something special to look forward to after their daughter's final treatment.

 

They didn't realise it at the time, but that simple act of kindness became the beginning of what would grow into the Rachel Rose Rainbows Initiative.
